I have devoted a majority of my free time to efforts geared toward empowering young women.

I am one of the newest members of the Girls on the Run West Sound board of directors. Girls on the Run aims to create a world in which every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Our organization inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Being an avid runner myself, I am fortunate to have found an organization that combines TWO of my passions.

In Alaska, I was involved in volunteer opportunities with the local YWCA chapter. Most fulfilling was my time in Girls Circles, where I led an after-school workshop in promotion of the importance of self-esteem and self-worth. I also hosted a "Social Media Etiquette" workshop at YWCA Alaska's Multicultural Female Leadership Conference.

Upon moving to California, I volunteered often with Girls Inc. of the Central Coast at their annual summer camp and in their Girls Groups program, another after-school initiative. There, I continued the self-esteem curriculum I developed and also introduced the young ladies to the profession of journalism, to positions both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

I take my mentorships seriously, and I’m committed to reminding every young lady of her worth in this world.

If you have a a speaking engagement you'd like to discuss or a request to learn more about my self-esteem curriculum, let’s chat!

The Basic Radio Show ft. guest Sierra Starks

I joined KONR 106.1FM - Out North Radio’s “Basic Radio Show” for a much-needed conversation about the current movement against racial injustice.

I also put together an awesome playlist reflecting on and celebrating the black experience.

iUrbanTeen’s Virtual STEAM Tour

I served as a panelist for iUrbanTeen’s Virtual Steam Tour. This was an initiative by iUrbanTeen to both keep our youth engaged during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order and to allow them to learn more about life and opportunities in the U.S. Army.
